A Spectrum of Youthful opinions
Students of Cathedral and John Connon School have come up with the third issue of SPECTRUM, a political quarterly
SPECTRUM is a political magazine written by the Indian youth; for the nation. It is the voice of young India. We are all from the Cathedral and John Connon School, Mumbai, studying in standard 10 and cannot exercise our franchise. We however certainly have an opinion on the political spectrum of India; we have questions which, as the youth of today and the future leaders of India, we seek answers to. There are a number of political magazines available, but this magazine is different. It aims at bringing awareness among the youth, and providing the older generation with a glimpse into our minds.
SPECTRUM is a quarterly magazine, supported by our school. It is free of cost as Spectrum is not just a magazine - it is a campaign. We aim to bring about change and awareness, by being critical yet optimistic.

The first issue of SPECTRUM was on the general elections and the SPECTRUM team interviewed visionaries, young leaders like Mr. Omar Abdullah, Mr. Jyotiradtya Scindia; as well as some respected, experienced figures like Mr. Arun Jaitely, Mr. Vahanvati and put forth questions which arise in the minds of the youth all the time.

In the second issue education was our cover story and we interviewed Mr.Kapil Sibal, Mr. Vishwajit Rane, Mrs.Supriya Sule and Mr.D Shivanandhan. In our third issue which has been released a week before the Copenhagen summit, climate change is our cover story. For this issue the SPECTRUM team has interviewed Dr. R K Pachauri, Mr. Jairam Ramesh, Mr. Jaswant Singh and Mr.Milind Deora.

They have recently taken the initiative to distribute ‘Solar Lanterns’, sponsored by companies or individuals to rural homes where there is no electricity. The campaign is called "Let’s give light to their learning".
